I recently received an email from the Bone Marrow Registry. I sent them a saliva sample back in 2007, and they think I might be a positive match for a Leukemia patient. I'm going to provide them with blood samples to help them confirm whether or not I may be able to help. I've heard how much these transfusions hurt, but I don’t care if it does or not... I'm excited to maybe help save someone's life. Here's a copy of the email:

Dear Benjamin,

As a result of donating a sample to the DoD Bone Marrow Registry in April of 2007, while you were with the Navy, you have now been identified as a preliminary match for a patient in need of a marrow transplant. At this time, there is about a 30 percent chance that you could be the closest match for the patient. If you are still interested and available to continue at this time, we would first need to go over a brief health questionnaire over the phone, to make sure there isn't anything that will defer you from being a donor. We would then set up an appointment for you to have additional samples drawn at a lab convenient to you. It takes anywhere from four to thirteen weeks to determine the best match. If you are found to be the best match and go on to donate, the procedure would take place within the next six months.

If current work circumstances (scheduled deployments w/in next 6 mos., unpredictable schedule, etc.) make it difficult for you to continue at this time but you wish to remain in the registry, please let us know the length of time for which you will be unavailable; we will inactivate you in the registry for this specified period of time; however, it can always be changed should you become available sooner or need to extend the time. Of course, if you are no longer interested in the program, we will remove you from the registry.

If this is not Benjamin Drapiza born April of 1984, please let me know. Thank you.

It was many days/weeks/months ago since any of us "Fy$" boys wrote on this blog, in fact I was the last to post something... it's either because of the lack of motivation, or possibly the fact that most of them have their own personal blogs to write on. I, myself don’t have one so I guess I’ll ramble on about my thoughts and feelings on here since I’m sure nobody ever goes on here anymore anyway.

I'm currently underway somewhere in the middle of the pacific ocean, running drills, getting our qualifications and making sure that the ships "readiness" is up to par. this stuff is really boring... I really have no purpose on board this gigantic floating naval vessel. I’m an electrician, and yes I do work on the 400HZ distribution that gives power to the Aircraft and Helicopters, but what am I really doing here? That question haunts me ever single day. I know why I joined the Navy back in 2006, and I remember telling myself I was doing the right thing by re-enlisting last December… but in the end is it really worth it?? I have no wife, no kids… I don’t need to support anyone but myself at the moment. I could understand if I was married with a child, then I would at least know I was doing this “job” for the security and stability of my family. Well, I have a little over a year to decide if I should still do this, hopefully by then I’ll either a) have a need to support others than myself or b) have another career choice in mind with a clear path to success.

It's been awhile since I've posted anything on here... A lot has happened since my last post, and truthfully I wasn't even going to post anything but, as I logged in the first thing that came up as i pressed enter after i typed the URL was a picture of Jason. 2 years ago tomorrow was the last time I saw him. He came down from the bay to come kick it for the 4th of July weekend... I remember it like it was yesterday... We prefaded at Jerms house the rolled out to downtown. We had so much fun at HOB for the block party... I was so faded... Lol the next day on the 4th we headed out to the beach... As we rolled up we thought we would have trouble finding parking, but sure enough someone was leaving as we pulled up. We had so much fun playing football, wrestling in the water, we even played a game of "who has the worst feet"(inside joke) LMAO. Afterwards we chilled at Jordy's had a BBQ and watched the fireworks. Perfect weekend, I couldn't have asked for a better one... Well I just thought I would share my memories with you all. Rest in paradise my friend, I'll make sure to have a jäger bomb for you tonight. Jason your spirit lives on with us everyday. FY$ LA FAMILIA FOREVER

Jason Joiner, age 27 of Stockton, California passed away on March 28, 2010. Jason was born in Hayward, California where he completed his high school diploma, and went on to attend courses at The College of San Mateo. At the age of 15, Jason started his first job in sales and went on to become a top salesman as a manger with several wireless companies and , he often was awarded for top sales. Jason was passionate about training his Siberian huskies and spending time with his family and friends. he loved skating, snowboarding and traveling.

He is survived by his father

Stephen Rodriguez and four brothers: Jesse, Dominic, Chris and

Richard.

A viewing will be open to the public on Monday April 5, 2010 at Sutter Street Memorial Chapel from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday April 6, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 7, 2010 with interment at Stockton Rural Cemetery to follow.

Shooting victim 'a good kid'

STOCKTON - The 27-year-old man shot to death Sunday at an intersection in north Stockton was identified Tuesday as Jason Joiner, a hard worker who was on his way home from a friend's house when he was killed.

"He was a good kid, man," said his older brother, Chris Simons. "He always worked. He never messed with anybody."

The Police Department reported that, about 12:35 a.m. Sunday, Joiner had stopped at March Lane and Kentfield Road when a car pulled up alongside his and someone inside fired several shots at him. Joiner's car then jumped forward, hit a median and struck a third vehicle at the intersection.

Joiner was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he died about an hour later.

Simons said his brother's car was a used patrol car but didn't think that had anything to do with the shooting. The car behind Joiner's also was hit by gunfire, he said.

Joiner was born in Hayward, spent much of his youth in Stockton and attended college for a while in San Mateo, his brother said. He trained Siberian huskies and was employed in cell phone sales.

The Kentfield neighborhood has had a relatively high violent crime rate, but the Police Department has said that has fallen as a result of city investment, community involvement and greater police presence.

Simons said he and his brother lived for a time in the neighborhood and still have a lot of friends there.

Joiner had many friends in Southern California, Simons said, and they are raising money to help pay for his interment. His family also is planning a local fundraiser, but the details hadn't been worked out Tuesday night.

(CNN) -- Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. CNN has not confirmed his death.

A Los Angeles fire official told CNN that paramedics arrived at Michael Jackson's home after a 911 call.

1 of 2 Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN after paramedics revived him at his home.

Brian Oxman, a Jackson family attorney, said he was told by brother Randy Jackson that Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in west Los Angeles Thursday morning.

Family members were told of the situation and were either at the hospital or en route, Oxman said.

Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN a 911 call came in from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m.

Ruda said Jackson was treated and transferred to the UCLA Medical Center.

Asked specifics of the patient's condition, he said he could not discuss them because of federal privacy laws.

The music icon from Gary, Indiana, is known as the "King of Pop."

Jackson is the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family.

At the medical center, every entrance to the emergency room was blocked by security guards. Even hospital staffers were not permitted to enter. A few people stood inside the waiting area, some of them crying.

Autofashion doin it big as always...

As some of you may know, i own a Lexus LS400 that was done up by Autofashion. Unfortunately, i haven't been maintaining the vehicle and haven't been able to hang with my boys in awhile but i still got mad love for them. And i hope they do too. Haha.

I'm really tapped out on anything interesting to blog about so i figured i might as well make an entry about what i've done so far on my day off. Nothing interesting, just a day in the life of Kev Mighty...

Today was definitely a hot day. No reason in staying home. So i figured time to get some errands done.

This past valentines, i went to dinner with mama, my sister Annabelle, and brother-in-law Jaybee. We ate at a restaurant called Brigantine up in Pt. Loma. Very nice restaurant. I don't normally plan things for valentines day so this was a first for me. Onto the pictures.

Definitely dinner worthy. Yall should check it out.

We took out Krizzzzzzzi for passing her Bartender exam, ended up going to Club "Submission" where the Jade Theater spot used to be, but apparently Jade Theater lost their liquor license for distributing alcohol to minors... R.I.P Jade Theater

Here on the USS NIMITZ CVN-68...trying to get tags(DANGER DO NOT OPERATE!) issued to do my weekly PMS(Planned maintenance schedule... My Chief is being so complicated! It's fukkin irritating GRrrrRR! If you havent already noticed i hate my job, and i hate the Navy. "Accelerate your life" hahah yeah right. We work 12hrs a day, dont get paid that much, and have to conform to thier rules and regulations...GGgaayYYyy! Ok well i gotta get back to "work" give yall an update again soon.

How to live like a US Navy Sailor....LOL

HOW TO LIVE LIKE A SAILOR:

~ Buy a steel dumpster, paint it gray inside and out, and live in it for six months.

~ Run all the pipes and wires in your house exposed on the walls.

~ Repaint your entire house every month.

~ Renovate your bathroom. Build a wall across the middle of the bathtub and move the showerhead to chest level. When you take showers, make sure you turn off the water while you soap down.

~ Raise the thresholds and lower the headers of your front and back doors so that you either trip or bang your head every time you pass through them.

~ Disassemble and inspect your lawnmower every week.

~ On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, turn your water heater temperature up to 200 degrees. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, turn the water heater off. On Saturdays and Sundays tell your family they use too much water during the week, so no bathing will be allowed.

~ Raise your bed to within 6 inches of the ceiling, so you can't turn over without getting out and then getting back in.

~ Sleep on the shelf in your closet. Replace the closet door with a curtain. Have your spouse whip open the curtain about 3 hours after you go to sleep, shine a flashlight in your eyes, and say "Sorry, wrong rack."

~ Make your family qualify to operate each appliance in your house - dishwasher operator, blender technician, etc.

~ Have your neighbor come over each day at 5 am, blow a whistle loudly, and shout "Reveille, reveille, all hands heave out and trice up."

~ Have your mother-in-law write down everything she's going to do the following day, then have her make you stand in your back yard at 6 am while she reads it to you.

~ Submit a request chit to your father-in-law requesting permission to leave your house before 3 pm.

~ Empty all the garbage bins in your house and sweep the driveway three times a day, whether it needs it or not.

~ Have your neighbor collect all your mail for a month, read your magazines, and randomly lose every 5th item before delivering it to you.

~ Watch no TV except for movies played in the middle of the night. Have your family vote on which movie to watch, then show a different one.

~ Make your family menu a week ahead of time without consulting the pantry or refrigerator.

~ Post a menu on the kitchen door informing your family that they are having steak for dinner. Then make them wait in line for an hour. When they finally get to the kitchen, tell them you are out of steak, but they can have dried ham or hot dogs. Repeat daily until they ignore the menu and just ask for hot dogs.

~ Bake a cake. Prop up one side of the pan so the cake bakes unevenly. Spread icing real thick to level it off.

~ Get up every night around midnight and have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on stale bread. (midrats)

~ Set your alarm clock to go off at random times during the night. At the alarm, jump up and dress as fast as you can, making sure to button your top shirt button and tuck your pants into your socks. Run out into the backyard and uncoil the garden hose.

~ Every week or so, throw your dog in the pool and shout, "Man overboard port side!" Rate your family members on how fast they respond.

~ Put the headphones from your stereo on your head, but don't plug them in. Hang a paper cup around your neck on a string. Stand in front of the stove, and speak into the paper cup "Stove manned and ready." After an hour or so, speak into the cup again "Stove secured." Roll up the headphones and paper cup and stow them in a shoebox.

~ Place a podium at the end of your driveway. Have your family stand watches at the podium, rotating at 4 hour intervals. This is best done when the weather is worst. January is a good time.

~ When there is a thunderstorm in your area, get a wobbly rocking chair, sit in it and rock as hard as you can until you become nauseous. Make sure to have a supply of stale crackers in your shirt pocket.

~ Make coffee using eighteen scoops of budget priced coffee grounds per pot, and allow the pot to simmer for 5 hours before drinking.

~ Have someone under the age of ten give you a haircut with sheep shears.

~ Sew the back pockets of your jeans on the front.

~ Lock yourself and your family in the house for six weeks. Tell them that at the end of the 6th week you are going to take them to Disney World for "liberty." At the end of the 6th week, inform them the trip to Disney World has been canceled because they need to get ready for an inspection, and it will be another week before they can leave the house.

Seducing Mr. Perfect

You guys all know that I'm a sucker for Korean romantic comedies, and i just wanted to give a quick review on this particular film. At first Seducing Mr. Perfect starts off kinda slow, but as it progresses the film actually kinda "reels you in" I think one of the best things about the movie is that half of it is in English so it's a lot easier to follow. Also, I'd like to add that the leading actress isn't bad on the eyes... that's a BIG plus. Normally i don't have a thing for short hair, but it suits her very well. If you're a K-Movie Addict like yours truly...go ahead and check this one out.

Jordan Josafat is an emerging painter and designer. His piece, “Block Party,” is interesting (far better in it’s full, un-cropped form) and is part of a series called House Warming, which, according to Josafat, “is a stab at the deterioration of neighborhoods.”

“Each piece has a significance to cliche neighborhoods or areas where I have experienced a memorable moment or event,” continues Josafat. “As for the piece on the cover, it was meant to portray the innocence of a neighborhood as well as to be reminiscent of the days when a neighborhood could come together as one, which I believe is slowly being diminished from our lives each and every day due to the deconstruction of our society.”

Bio-
Jordan Josafat-Born in Vallejo Ca 1982… a city just outside of San Francisco, moved to San Diego at the age 5, lived in San Diego most of my life and attended school, joined an independent studies program for painting in college, moved to San Francisco for a few months in 2007 to gain inspiration-had a short internship with artist Doze Green-moved back to San Diego to pursue more shows and to continue on with my journey as an artist.
